1) Recruiter found me on LinkedIn. Set up time for small chit chat 2) Hiring Manager. Behavior questions. Pretty much go with the flow 3)Jam session/case study. 3 very long hours. Met 1-1 for the first 2 interviews then last hour was with hiring manager plus 2 other ppl. The one on ones was typical behavior and some technical. The ppt presentation, they let you present then they asked questions throughout and end of presentation. Heard back exactly a week later with a email saying they have moved on I will say the hiring manager and recruiter was nice. They tried to prepare me as much as possible to succeed. Preparing for the case study within a week and then the jam session was just mentally draining.

This was the worst interview process I have ever been through. After an initially quick first and second stage within a few days of one another, I was sent the task and asked to present 3 days later. This was not an easy task, involving the build of 2 presentations so it was going to take a long time to complete and 3 days was going to be tough. However I was informed that I was up against somebody else and if they did the task sooner, they would get the role. On the day of the presentation, the interview was cancelled and then moved three times as the interviewer was "too busy". This was eventually moved to 2 weeks later - on the morning of the interview, the HR rep from U4B called to check in but it was apparent he was unprepared for the call, with him getting confused on what the format of the interview was going to be. At the time of the interview, the wrong zoom link was sent to me and once I got on the call, the interviewers told me there was no need to present and it became a competency based interview. Following the call, the HR rep rang to say the interviewers had run the wrong type of interview and could I present the next week. I was told I "pretty much had the role" but that I needed to present first. I proceeded to pull out of the process as it was clearly so unorganised and I can't imagine what it would be like to work for a company that can't even run a hiring process.

Interview Questions

Create a 20 minute presentation demonstrating who would be a perfect U4B customer. Run a 30 minute sales meeting including a 15 minute discovery call.

The interview process consisted of 7 steps - Hiring Manager 45 min - Presentation of your projects to the panel 45 min - 1-1s with all the teams members and one external stakeholder - 5 interviews, 45 min each, scheduled the same day. Generally, I would agree that I wasn't the 100% match for the role, however, having 5 interviews circling around the same topic was not really meaningful. Some stakeholders contradicted to each other, not all of them were prepared and they even admitted that (!). These 5 interviews were supposed to focus on various skills, e.g. Process, Stakeholder Management, Prioritization but only 2 interviewers really sticked to the topic. The rest did a random Q&A. In the final feedback they said that my projects were too short for the program management and this was the most frustrating thing, as I mentioned during the first conversation right away that I come from the business ops side, as well as the length of my project. Based on this, you could have already avoided wasting your candidate's time on 6 interviews. If this is crucial for the role, it is important to make sure that candidates you select for the next steps meet all the criteria. So the interview process won't be a disappointment for both sides.
